Born in Fresno, CA, I was raised in a small town in upstate New York. From before I could speak, my family traveled regularly throughout the US and Europe and at 20 I put my few belongings in my old grand prix and headed West. I was born breeched with my umbilical cord around my scrawny, defenseless throat in August 1980. From the beginning there was something following right beside me, begging me not to come into this world. But I was glib and tired of eating through my stomach, so I untied the cord and made a u-turn (with a little help from the doctors) and Boom!... or plop, whatever the case may have been, here I was.
